A Brief Self-Introduction
I am a Korean overseas fan who loves the Japanese idol group Mameshiba no Taigun. I have been continuously supporting them through YouTube, TikTok, and X, and I always draw strength from seeing the members giving their best on stage.
However… this time, instead of just being a supporter, I felt the urge to create something for the fans — and for the members — myself. That’s how this project, “MAME RUN!!” mini game, came about.

Motivation for Creation – This Game Started from ‘Fan Spirit’
Recently, the competition between the new songs “Pawaway!” and “Ristep” has been unfolding as Kuro-chan VS the members. They are competing based on views and TikTok audio usage, and the winning side will get
- All members will film a bikini MV (Kuro-chan)
- Members will design their own outfits?
- Release a solo single? …and receive quite a sizable ‘reward’.
At the 2025/11/24 Ario Kawaguchi release event, there was a scene where Naon-chan sincerely asked fans to post “Pawaway!” on TikTok. It left a strong impression on me, and I thought, “Ah… it seems like they really want to do something. I definitely want to help with this.”
Fans started posting even small videos on TikTok using “Pawaway!”, and I too pondered, ‘What can I do?’
Then it hit me, “The interlude of ‘Pawaway!’ has a game BGM-like quality.” “Right, then it would be fun to create game play videos and put the audio on top!”
But I’m not a game streamer, and I don’t really excel at games. Then…
If there’s no game, I can just create one!
So, I started with a very lighthearted mindset.
Initially, It Was Just a Toy of 20-30 Minutes
My initial idea was this:
- Create a simple HTML
- Make a simple running game like the Chrome dinosaur game using JavaScript
- Replace the dinosaur with my favorite, 'Leona'
- It should take about 20-30 minutes to create the basic engine
- Then I could just play it alone, record it, and be done
I thought it would be exactly that — a one-time toy.
But…
An Irresistible Addiction
As I started making the game, I realized I was having way more fun than expected.
- Adding more obstacles
- Incorporating coin items and animations
- Implementing Leona’s running motion
- Creating jump actions
- Adding background images…
As a result, I thought, “I want to add a story too?” → “For that, I will need stages.” So, the expansion never stopped.
As I became deeply invested, I thought, “This feels too good to be enjoyed alone.”
And above all —
How wonderful would it be if this game could generate interest for people who don’t know Mameshiba? Game → Member’s charm → 'Who is this idol?' → Search → MV appreciation → Fan growth → More audience → One step closer to the Tokyo Dome.
I began to feel that this cycle might actually be possible.
The “temporary game” for video production transformed into a small marketing effort and challenge.

The Pressure That Came When Deciding to Distribute Online
As soon as I decided to distribute, my mindset shifted suddenly.
- “No one asked me to do this, but… I have to ensure quality.”
- “It should also provide an enjoyable experience for fans.”
So I delved deeper.
- Establishing the Mameshiba universe and structuring the storyline
- Confirming the concept of running from Shibuya to Tokyo Dome
- Researching the actual route on Google Maps
- Planning the stage system
- Designing the main landing page
- Creating the character selection UI
- Making character card images for each member
- Ensuring mobile compatibility
- Implementing a scoring system + ranking system
- Establishing a system for highest scores of logged-in users
- Creating game over quotes + character image sets
- And building the server…
Honestly, while I’m confident in the engine and logic, I had no experience in creating ‘game UI/graphics’, which was quite challenging. However, as I continued to build each component, the game started to feel more and more like a real game, and I became more engrossed.

First Distribution – Contents Implemented So Far
The scope of this initial distribution includes the following:
- Prologue + Story Mode
- Character Selection Screen (Currently, the only playable character is Leona)
- Stage 1: Complete Implementation of Shibuya Run
- Jumping, obstacle collision detection, running motion
- Gold coin items
- Score & submission logic
- Server record storage + real-time reflection of the TOP 5 rankings
- Mobile compatibility completed
Unfortunately, in the initial distribution, there are:
- Only one playable character, Leona
- Only gold coins as items
- Only one stage
However, if the response from fans is positive, I plan to continue updates.
Future Plans
- Add characters of other members
- Boost items like Tokushima rice and ramen
- Negative items like Kuro-chan’s toxic mist
- Unique special abilities for each character
- Stage 2: “Omotesando Run”
- Stage 3: “Imperial Palace Run”
- Expand the story to Stage 4: “Tokyo Dome Run”
Conclusion – What I Hope to Achieve Through This Game Development
For the group I love, for the people I cherish, and for the fans who share the same passion, even just creating something small with my skills is already quite rewarding.
However, I hope that Mameshiba no Taigun becomes more widely known, receives more attention, and is loved by even more people so that one day, they can truly stand on the stage of the Tokyo Dome.
And… I really hope that Leona accidentally discovers and plays this game herself.
